A smile costs nothing,

but its value is immense.

It enriches the one who receives it,

without impoverishing the one who gives it.

There is no person so strong

that they can live without it,

and no person so rich

that a smile cannot add to them.

Moreover, it cannot be bought with money,

taken by cunning, or stolen,

because it has no value unless

it appears naturally, on its own.

Sometimes people are too tired

to be able to smile at you,

so smile at them instead,

because there is no one who needs a smile more

than the person who cannot smile.
