Insights from 15 years of motherhood

Today I am celebrating my eldest son's birthday. 15 years since the day he changed my world and gave me an honorable (some might say heavy) title: "Mom"...

So, my child, among the many things that will still be written in the book of life and engraved in my heart, you have taught me:

1. That there is no love in the world like a mother's love.

2. That even if you fall—you can get back up. It's enough for me to be there to provide emotional support.

3. That you have so much to say, and I just need to stop and listen.

4. That you are listening—even if it seems like you're not!

5. That you see everything and learn from us, both the good and the bad.

6. That when we loosen the reins a little, it allows you to be more independent and take responsibility.

7. That we are your home, your anchor, and your safe place.

8. That thanks to the boundaries we consistently set over the years, you trust us with your eyes closed.

9. That ADHD is genetic and manifests differently in everyone.

10. That adolescence begins gradually as early as age 9.

11. That your taste in music and clothes reflects your high self-confidence!

12. That whether it's a 5-year-old or a 15-year-old who's already taller than me, conversations should always be held at eye level.

13. That we should choose our battles wisely because the home is a zone of peace, not war.

14. That I need to tell you I love you and that I will never give up on you, even if sometimes you give up on yourself.

15. That no matter that your mom is a professional who helps other children, when it comes to my own child, I need to turn to another professional.

16. One for the coming year—there is no love in the world like a mother's love! Did I already say that???
