Everyone needs someone to be silent with.

Tomorrow, on the eve of Tu B'Av, our feeds will be filled with hearts, flowers, words of happiness and prosperity... and fireworks.

My personal feed will be filled with birthday wishes. So today, I decided to share my words for my one and only, whose every word and note in the melody of my life is intertwined with his. As if in perfect harmony, the words were written to summarize almost two decades.

And if there is no one wiser than someone with experience, then all these words together summarize who my one and only is to me. And I want to hope that I am no less than that for him. My one and only, who can show up at the clinic in the late evening hours after I’ve said goodbye to my last clients, with two cups of coffee or a pampering plate with an amazing sandwich like only he can make.

Because he knows that on busy days, I forget to eat...

And he closes the door to the small room, sits across from me, and waits for me to take a breath and finish writing what I need to write. And then, for a short time, it’s just him and me, just like it used to be.

Talking, sharing, laughing, being silent. Catching up on how the day went and what’s new with the kids. And those moments, when he sees me so clearly and knows exactly what I need, give me the energy of a million horsepower. A boost of oxygen to breathe deeply, no matter how challenging my day was, erasing the difficulty and painting my day in purple.

So just before all our feeds fill up, I wish for all of you to find in your lives that person who is exactly this for you, and you for them.

This song was written for my one and only, whom I was lucky to love.

Happy Tu B'Av.
